TRUTH AND FICTION

In the twentieth century, the US media has advanced so far in new age technology and innovation that the lines between truth and fiction are hard to follow in television, internet, and the film industry as people are constantly spoon fed subliminal messgaes and manipulated information.

With new feature films like Avatar, and other 3-D motion pictures, movie producers are pushing the limits of what is real and what is an illusion of technology. When the average kid goes to a movie these days, what they see on the silver screen may be entirely fabricated and fictional, yet to the trained eye, these things are considered truthful and look like reality, often taken for granted. This goes for television networks as well and especially the internet. Television is famous for mixing truth and fiction mostly through various news channels. One example of the news being able to manipulate truth and reality in recent history is in Wisconsin, when FOX news was caught for showing clips of Los Angeles riots in the Wisconsin strike to exaggerate the level of violence and outbreak in Wisconsin. This example of the media being busted for messing truth and fiction is a perfect example to demonstrate the reality of their actions and that everything must be taken with a grain of salt.
